Caltex Tsing Yi Terminal: twenty years of jetty maintenance
Recurring work at an oil terminal: inspection scaffolds for the pier piles, new rubber fenders, seawall grout bags and a full mooring-buoy package.

An oil terminal jetty has to be inspected and repaired without stopping the berths. We have worked at the Caltex (now Chevron) Tsing Yi Terminal on and off since 2001:
- 2001. A movable working scaffold for inspecting and repairing the piles and concrete of Pier No.6: steel pipe and angle frames about 4.2 × 2 m on rollers, with 1,680 × 500 × 38 mm treads.
- 2009. A new rubber fender system for berths No.3 to No.5: 250 × 250 × 350 mm rubber on 254 × 254 mm I-beam frames, fixed with grade 316 M24 and M30 bolts.
- 2011. A scheme to regrade the seawall to 1:1.5 and protect it with grout bags, in four sections.
- 2020. A mooring-buoy package: a 750 kN buoy, Ø76 mm stud-link and Ø28 mm studless chain, 15-tonne sinkers, 38 aluminium anodes, circle fenders and an inspection report for seven existing buoys.
