The submarine water main between Cheung Chau and Lantau changes from steel to fibreglass-reinforced plastic at a flanged joint on the seabed, at about −11 PD. When a leak was suspected there, a diver inspected the joint and marked the leak position on plan and on two sections, so the repair could be planned.
