Lung Kwu Chau: uncovering a buried outfall diffuser at −22 mPD
A daily diving plan to find and clear a buried seabed diffuser near a busy fairway, 6–8 nautical miles from the typhoon shelter.

The diffuser lay buried at about −22 mPD near Lung Kwu Chau, 6 to 8 nautical miles from Tuen Mun Typhoon Shelter and close to a shipping fairway.
Each working day:
1. A tug tows the work barge out from the typhoon shelter.
2. The survey team sets four anchors and marker buoys over the target.
3. Divers take an airlift hose down and clear 20–35 m³ of seabed a day.
4. Dives are no-decompression, 45 minutes or less each at more than 20 m, three to five a day.
5. A warning boat stays on station throughout.
Because of the fairway we drew two schemes: return to the shelter every night, or stay moored on site with night lights.
