Xiamen–Kinmen fibre cable: burial to 3 m
Two diver teams trenched either side of a 32 mm submarine fibre cable so it lowered itself to 3 m below the seabed, checked every 10 m.

The fibre cable between Xiamen and Kinmen had to be buried 3 m deep. It was already laid, so the work was done around it.
- A small work boat carrying the equipment set GPS buoys at the start point.
- Divers found the cable and filmed a pre-burial video.
- Two teams worked either side, one with a water-jet lance and one with a hydraulic suction pipe, digging in stages so the cable settled into the trench by itself.
- Burial depth was checked with a cross-staff and on video every 10 m.
- The trench was backfilled by jetting and a final video report was made.
